Info...

The Addison Cup, the CB Atkinson Tropy, the George Greaves Cup and the MMP Cup are managed by the Harrogate & District Amateur Evening Cricket League and as such, are contested by members of the league.

The Addison Cup is competed for by teams in divisions one and two, the CB Atkinson Trophy by those in divisions three and four and the George Greaves Cup by those in divisions five and six. The MMP Cup is played for by teams who lose in the first round of the George Greaves Cup.

Matches in all competitions take the same form, with all games prior to the final being play on Monday evenings. Games will commence at 6:30pm except for the finals which will begin at 6:15pm. Each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs, except for fixtures played during the first week of the evening league season where the innings will last a maximum of 18 overs.

No bowler may bowl more than six overs in any one innings and may take no more than a 12 yard run up. Any short-pitched delivery which bounces above the shoulder height of a batsman in his normal stance shall be called a "no-ball".

Should the home team decide that the ground is unfit for play (due to wet weather), a match maybe cancelled no later than 4:00pm on the day of the game. Otherwise, the game may be reduced by a maximum of four overs per side (i.e. 20 overs per side becomes 16, 18 overs per side becomes 14) and must start no later than 7:00pm. If a game is unable to be completed due to further rain interventions it must be replayed on the following Monday or another date mutually agreed by both clubs and approved by the Assistant League Secretary.

In all competitions, the final will be played at a neutral ground.

Hello Forest cricketers, WAGs, general supporters and people looking for Kentucky Fried Chicken!

Firstly I would like to make you all aware of the new Twitter page which I've created this week. Another form of media to our arsenal which if anyone would like some news or gossip transmitting over the Twitter Internet waves let me know. Search Knaresborough Forest, @Forest_cc or check Facebook for a link.

Unfortunately as I look out my window I see grey clouds and rain. But have no fear, BBC news is reporting that the weather should clear up for this Saturdays game against Ouesburn 2s.

The "Jonathan Jugg" is still in one piece and is sitting with pride on the coffee table. Though the drive back from Markington nearly cost it its life. It dived off the passenger seat as it saw the corner coming and made good its escape in to the foot well. Thankfully no injuries came to the jug and it lives to grace some lucky Forest players mantle piece from the next fines committee.

The folks will be down again on Saturday taking pictures so ensure your whites are clean and ironed. Think it's time for a team picture?

Well that's it, washing machine repair man will be here soon... More
